Deposit Instructions
These instructions outline the steps for submitting a publication to OpenEmory using the self-service option. You can also ask our staff to deposit your work for you by contacting us. Additional guidance about depositing your scholarship is available at How to Submit and Deposit Advice.
- To start a deposit, click on the Login link in the upper right corner, and enter your Emory network credentials.
- If you are a new user, your account will be created automatically based on your Emory credentials.
- Navigate to the homepage, and click on the Share Your Work button.
- Select the appropriate Type for your publication, and then fill out all required fields in the Publication Information section.
- You can also supply additional entries such as abstracts, author notes, and keywords in the Additional Information section.
- Next, navigate to the Files tab of the form. You must supply a Primary Content file for your publication, and you can also optionally upload Supplemental Files to accompany your publication. Make sure to click the Attach File button to confirm your file is uploaded.
- Before clicking the Save button, you must select a Visibility for your submission. This can either be Public, or you can set an embargo of up to 3 years.
- Review the Deposit Agreement and check the box when you have done so.
- Click Save, and your submission will be sent to the OpenEmory team for review. Your work will be published immediately in the repository, unless it is embargoed.
- To check the status of your submission and whether it has been reviewed, login to the site and navigate to the Dashboard > Your Activity > Notifications. You can also click the bell icon in the upper right corner of the site at any time when you are logged in.
